Meeting Kate...

Kim, Paul and Kate were back for the Chinese New Year holidays and we met them at their place one Saturday. Kate is really sweet. Always smiling and pretty friendly. The girls played together but not with each other. It's funny how children always ask to play with other children but ended up playing by their own. Joelle has been asking for company but she does not seem to be able to mingle well with other children. She is more of an adult-child. She plays with mummy's friends and likes to talk to daddy's friends but not with their children. That Saturday, Kim and I chatted while Paul read to the girls. He is really good as the girls were totally engrossed in his readings, book after book. Thanks Paul! Joelle had a great time!

Orchard road

Mummy is not a big fan of orchard road so little Joelle hardly ventures there as well.
Our maid needs to remit money back so off we go to lucky plaza where little Phillipines is. After that errand, we walk over to Takashimaya and Paragon. There is a baby fair at Taka and we bought a portable baby feeding chair for Isabelle in preparation for her 6 month graduation to solid food. She would need a chair and we know that Joelle would probably not let her have the high chair at home as she is still using it so we decide to invest in one for the doll. After leisure shopping we move on to stressful shopping. That is the IT show at Suntec.
I know what I want to buy so I went right
up to the booth, bought the printer and walk right out of the place dragging my huge printer behind me on the free trolley. But I have to say that it is a great buy and I'm glad I waited for the show. Yes! More activities this April!

Library trip

I brought Joelle to the library last Saturday. She has been bugging me all week to bring her to the library to read so since we are meeting Kim and Paul at their place on Saturday which is only a 3 min walk from the library, it seems like the best time to take her to the library. She sat herself comfortably down on the floor in front of the shelves and started pulling out books after books for me to read to her. After about five books, I told her that I will read the last three books for her and we have to leave because little Kate and Aiden are waiting for her to visit. She then said that I would only need to read one last book because she wants to play with the children.
There is something that I really dislike about NLB is the places they choose to put on the sensors. It's flustrating to read a book to your little ones and have to end up with pages like this.

Hmmm... this poor monkey is "faceless". Some are even worst! I thought they have a standard place to put the sensors but when I look at many others, I realised that they can sometimes be on the left page, sometimes right page, sometimes on top, sometimes at the bottom but why oh why do they have to be right smack in a character's face? Goodness! I work in a library and I can find at least 2 alternate places to put the sensor on this book and it definately won't be on the monkey's face!

Cheeky baby

This baby girl is getting cuter by the day! She is very playful now, cheeky too.
I'm celebrating the day I can start playing with her, teaching her things and showing her the world.

The day is drawing near. It's the day I redeem my freedom to do things that are more worthwhile.
My working life has been rather dull and monotonous but come April it will be vibrant and exciting and
definately more enriching. I intend to get myself involved in good, healthy causes and of course
I have to earn some money for keeps too. Hey friends! I'm back into freelancing! Call me!
I am in fact planning my time and activities for April already. I just can't wait to get my hands back
on the little one. To hold her and hug her and tell her how beautiful she is... just like I did with Joelle
three years back. Joelle will start some informal education with me which I have also schedule some
time for this April. I have bought and prepared the materials needed for activities mainly in arts,
pretend play and writing. I am also planning for more library trips and reading sessions for her too.
Wow! I'm getting so excited! It sounds like a great time ahead!

Oh and for sure I will have more time to blog!

Isabelle

Isabelle is a very sweet baby. She has started to smile easily at people and has also began to display preference for certain faces. Every morning when I give her a kiss before leaving for office, she would stir a little, open her eyes and smile at me. That would always start my day well. It's like my morning caffeine. I'm totally addicted to her. She is still too young for me to determine her personality and I pray that she will have a great one. All I can comment about is her behaviour these days. She chatters alot now, complete with hand geatures and excitable expressions. She will shout with displeasure if her sister grabs her too tightly. She will cry for my attention when I reach home every evening and will only stop when I give her a "hello" kiss. She likes to watch Barney with her sister and dramas with us. She is a movie buff. Not my ideal but guess it's alright for now. Many things will change once I start to take over the caring for my children in April. The crucial task at hand would be to re-educate and discipline Joelle but the one thing I know I'm definately going to do is to spend more quality time with Isabelle.
