Best TVC

If you happen to be washing the dishes when this commercial comes on, drop your plates and if you are in the toilet, wrap up. This is a commercial to watch! Is it really that good? Well, let's just say it's our family's best TVC project ever! I have worked with Dave in the past over countless projects but this is probably the first time I see him at work after we started a family. And the best part is... it doesn't feel strange working together. In fact it's great to be together and I'm proud to say I'm proud of us! Go on... watch it and let me know.

Peekaboo!

This must be Isabelle's favourite game right now. She enjoys this peekaboo thing alot and it can make her chuckle out loud! She's getting more and more playful everyday and I'm so glad I'm able to watch her enjoy her world! Since the day I left full day, full pay employment to be a full time mother, I have never stop thanking God for the opportunity many would love to have. It's true that I miss my pay, my bonuses, my increments very much but I have never regret this decision to devote more time to my girls. Joelle is not an everyday angel, that's for sure and Isabelle has demands that's hard to ignore but they are the best kids you can ask for in the world. We have our angry days, our screaming days, days that I wish I was back in the office, days that I actually sneak out for a breather but at the end of the day I always want to go back to them. Sometimes I wonder if this is the right decision for me but I'm comforted that regrets are far from the equation. I will never regret making that call to stop work and stay home. I might regret not having more money to enjoy our retirement. I might regret not having the reason to don those attractive office wear (yes, I do like those jacket thing). But I will never regret having to wake up at 7am to get my daughter to school and fetching her at 12noon. I will never regret the never ending need to prepare lunch and dinner and tea and snacks for them so that both can have nutritional food for all meals (with me at home, I can always make sure that they eat their greens and fruits). I also will never regret the constant request to feed (yes, Isabelle is still on it), to play, to read, to do mummy's school and to make trips to the library. It tires me no doubt (I'm not very young and bouncy anymore you know) but what I get in exchange is more than justifiable. The look on their face is everything you ever need. It's similar to hearing them call you mummy for the very first time. Children are just so innocent. Their emotions are simple and their expressions can be trusted. Now I'm waiting for Isabelle to call me "mummy".

Pretty girl

One morning we woke up and found a pretty girl on our bed. Isabelle looks so pretty with double eyelids. Yes, she woke up that morning with lovely double eyelids but please don't misread this. Isabelle is beautiful with or without them but double eyelids just makes a girl look so much more feminine. She looks so much like Joelle with her temporary double eyelids (she lost them after her nap!). But daddy couldn't stop looking at her. So now we agree that the girls actually look alike. The only thing that kept them looking different is the double eyelids.

Cousins

Cousins. As you can see it's almost impossible to get the younger girls to pose for a photo. Joelle is the only "cooperative" one and that's cos she's much older and very camera "un-shy". Germaine is about 4 months older than Isabelle. She is starting to walk now while Isabelle is still learning to walk. I can't imagine when the girls are a little older and able to play with each other, they will be running around and making so much noise. All three of them! Goodness. Would it sound like a little girls market? Hmmm... we shall see.

Beach babies

This is Isabelle's third visit to the beach but it is her first time exploring the sand, sea and grass. I did let her feel grass under her feet whenever we are at the garden but this is the first time she actually crawl on them. She's fast, I tell you. She looks, she touch and she's on it! Same with the sand. She touch, she pulls away, she touch again and sinks her feet right into them. She fares better than her sister in the guts department. Joelle cried when we brought her to the beach. She cringed when she touched the grass. She struggled to be off the sand and she cried when she saw the waves. Joelle did not like the beach when she was younger. She is an air-con baby and prefers strolling in shopping centers than being in the outdoors. Its really surprising that she grows up to love the beach. Now she is always asking to go to the beach, to play with sand and to collect leaves. But she is still afraid of the waves... which is not a bad thing afterall. At least the fear will keep her off the waters by herself. Isabelle on the other hand, likes them all. She basks in the sun when we go outdoors and soak in the cool air when we go shopping. She is more adventurous than her sister and definately more a dare devil. Not always a good thing... it puts mummy on the edge all the time.

Isabelle's teeth.

Did I mention Isabelle has four teeth already? And for your information, she does have two rather BIG front teeth! They look big to me and since everyone comment on the same thing, I guess it must be big then. We are teasing her about her two front teeth so much that one day she might bite us with them! But to be honest... her two BIG front teeth are so cute. And she likes to flaunt them as well. Oh, and I hope her other teeth takes a vacation now and let us enjoy her four so-cute teeth now. They just look so adorable when she grin. Hee..hee..

Isabelle, there is no hurry for your other teeth to emerge. Take your time and 'pops' them slowly, alright? I promise I won't let anyone call you 'bo-gay' because you only have four teeth. Oh and you already have a set of BIG front teeth so the song 'all I want for christmas is my two front teeth' does not apply to you too. You are in the safe zone. Mummy and Daddy loves your four teeth very much. Trust us, you look really cute with them. Ignore all the laughs about them being BIG. Big is nice, big is good. Better big than weak. Ok? We love you and all your four teeth! Big ones too.

Daddy's 33rd birthday.

We celebrated daddy's birthday recently. Joelle was really excited because she was told that her birthday comes after daddy's. So if daddy's birthday comes and goes, it means that hers would be next! Clever girl. Daddy requested for cheesecake and I decided to try something new for him. I made him a Bailey's cheesecake and it's really nice. Hmmm... even Joelle likes it, though I actually prepared a blueberry swiss roll for her. I was worried about the alcohol but it seems quite light. This is probably the most successful cheesecake I've made so far. The first chocolate cheesecake was a little too thick and 'gelare'. The second blueberry cheesecake was too wet and 'jellylike'. This Bailey's cheesecake was at the right texture and most importantly a strong but refreshing taste. Anyway it was during the planning that I realised how much Joelle has grown. When I asked her what she would like to give daddy for his birthday, she thought for a moment before replying "how about a watch? daddy likes to wear watch" and she said that with eyes wide with excitment and she even suggested I empty her piggy bank to buy the gift but when I told her that her piggy bank probably wouldn't have enough money to buy a watch, she got a little upset. But after thinking for a while more, she said "how about a card? I think I can draw daddy a card." That's how the card came about but of course I wanted to include Isabelle and the best way would be to use their hand print. I'm very hapy with the result and mind you it wasn't easy getting the best of both hands! Surprisingly Isabelle was very cooperative and Joelle seemed rather 'trained' in hand printing. So I hope that daddy would appreciate this card from his girls because I would and I know I probably won't get one as daddy probably won't have that idea to get the girls to do one for me. Sob..sob.. but I can always make them do one for me one day. That would still be nice I'm sure, though without the surprise element. What more can I expect from a practical, down-to-earth husband who would rather buy me an expensive phone with functions so advance I probably won't know how to use than get down to such simple little act which in fact packs more memories and value for a romantic and sentimental person like myself. Oh well, at least I can get some good money if I decide to sell that phone later! As for now, I'm contenting myself to flashing a high end phone around. And romancing myself with my girls.

cupcakes?

Now I understand why making cupcakes can be so addictive. I'm HOOKED!!! The first try at icing the cupcakes was quite a flop to me as I was expecting better results but my girl loves it. Comments were encouraging so I'm prepared to make them again. It requires abit of experimenting and I'm sure I would be able to make prettier ones at my next session. Look at Joelle enjoying the cupcake... wouldn't that make you want to do it for her? She's my biggest fan really. She will never say that my cooking is horrible or my drawings are ugly. She is the most tactful little diplomat in the house. Or should I say she is extremely careful not to hurt me in any way. She knows that mummy got a fragile little heart that needs to be treated with TLC. She will hold me and kiss me and comfort me whenever she sense that I'm hurt, either by someone else or she herself. No matter what happens, as long as she isn't crying, she will forget about her own emotions to come and sooth mine. I really thank God for giving me Joelle for she's probably the only one who does that unconditionally. She really loves her mummy. Somehow I can tell... And I love this girl too. Oh yes I do...
