These apple cinnamon scones are nice and sweet. However they don't taste good overnight so it's better to eat them fresh from the oven.

Updates on the girls.
"Thank you God for the word so sweet. Thank you God for the food we eat. Thank you God for the birds that sing. Thank you God for everything. Amen.
Here is Joelle acting cute. Kids will always be kids. They just like fast food. Anyway we don't have fast food often so it's alright to indulge once in a while. Make them happy with a happy meal. It always work for them.
Issy enjoying the exerciser in a departmental store. I wanted to rent one for her when she was younger but it was not available. This thing doesn't last long (age wise) so I don't see the need to buy one. I'm glad she has a try in it now.
Join me Mummy, Join me Daddy, Join me Joelle, Join me Isabelle. Thank you auntie Mary."
The best part is ... she will still thank auntie Mary even when we eat out! Haha!

A little manicure treat.
Compass point had a "princess theme" promotion near christmas last year and we qualify for it simply by spending $100 at the outlets. So what did we get? A princess jewelry workshop and a princess nail art workshop. Well, we have a princess in the making here, so eager to be painted on. Anyway that little princess chose a horrifying colour or colours, two actually only to have a shocked mummy change it! Really... I would usually let her decide on things like this but her choice was horrendous that day! I know it's only a nail polish but I would really dread walking next to her if she had insisted on her choice. Somehow I had a feeling I saved her day. At least no one stared at us with horror that day.
Two new teeth!

Vivocity!
I heard that IMM has a similar feat on their rooftop. I have not been to the one at IMM yet. I wonder if it's just as fun. Anyway it's gonna be almost inaccessible to us without daddy cos it's too far and inconvenient without the car. I guess we shall content ourselves to vivocity till perhaps punggol plaza starts one too! Haha!

The year of the Rat - 2008
It's the lunar new year again. Joelle is wearing a very pretty Vietnamese outfit (a gift from my friend sharon) and Isabelle is wearing a very chinese outfit bought by her paternal grandfather about two years ago. Yes! Joelle wore that before in year 2005.
Joelle told me on new year eve that she wanted to sleep late so we can have a long life! Haha! She also told me during the reunion dinner that we should eat more prawns if we wanna be happy cos her teacher said prawns make you "Ha Ha da xiao" Geez... that was a good one cos it made me laugh so hard I almost choke on my food. I heard that joke before but I had never expect it to come out from joelle and it didn't exactly come out as a joke from her. She sounded quite serious about it. Haha! I kinda think she might actually believed her teacher. Anyway we had a good laugh.
This year of the Rat felt a little special to me so I went out and bought some nice little deco for the house. All in I have six pieces around the house. Dave was kinda surprised. I specially liked these two as they kinda represent the family. Daddy, mummy, Joelle and Isabelle.. just don't ask who is the one with the hats!? The one with the "Fu" is very meaningful too because it shows Mary supporting Issy. Yes! I will still use these in the year of the Ox, the Tiger, the Rabbit even the Dragon... unless they come up with cute little sheep or doggies to distract me from these lovely little mice or rats if you prefer. Haha!
On the first day, we visited Dave's parents in the morning and since my father is one car park away, we paid a visit to him as well. Then we pick up Ritz and moved on to my maternal grandma's place for lunch. There we spend a good few hours eating, catching up and eating again. Oh... surprisingly this time Dave was up watching television while I went into zzland. We went back to my in law's place for dinner. This time all the relatives were present so the children (or cousins maybe) had a good time playing.
On the second day, we visited Dave's maternal grandma after lunch. She is 88 years old I think and she's still very alert. She's one healthy old lady. Then we visited Dave's 8th auntie and had dinner there. The cousins played together again. It's almost like they play together only once a year unless someone got married or had a baby or celebrate a birthday.
We stayed home on the third and forth day because Issy came down with a cough and runny nose. Sharon came visiting on Saturday evening with the family. Dave started work on Monday. And that's about all this CNY 2008.

A little flower girl...
This entry comes a little late but then again... nothing is too late to be dated.
Joelle clinched the role of a flower girl in a friend's wedding recently. I am so very proud of this little pretty lady. I bet even daddy feels proud that day. We actually got her the dress from our trip to Taiwan (Ya.. that excited!) and I bought the shinny black shoes and lacy socks a few days before the event. I guess daddy and mummy were more anxious than the little starlet herself. Daddy was anxious about her performance that day while mummy was more anxious about her hair looking fine and her smile perfected. Goodness! She's only gonna be a flower girl! I can't imagine the day she walk down the aisle as a bride. Mummy's gonna cry... I wonder if daddy will too...
