Isabelle draws...

a... butterfly?
Isabelle is drawing quite frequently now though not as much as joelle did. She has a very special way of drawing, I noticed. Unlike joelle who likes detail in her drawings, issy tends to like forms, shapes. So cool, my little artists.

At downtown east

We woke up early and went for breakfast (in pajamas) at the food court. Simple but good breakfast. Half boiled eggs, pau, toasted buns and hot milo and coffee. After breakfast we went for a quiet walk around the area. What a relaxing morning after a great party.

Next destination... explorer kid! We had free tickets for a two hour play from the resort package so we paid a total of $6.50 for four adults, two children and a pair of socks. A very good deal. I was 'smart' enough to tag myself with joelle and leave issy with mary because at the end of the day, mary was totally exhausted. Isabelle being the braver one, was literally dashing around. She climbed, she ran, she slide, she rolled, she jumped and mary was practically on her hands and knees desperately trying to catch up. I had it much easier as joelle was fearful of many things. Things that moved, shake, made noises will caused her to jump on me and so we breeze through the obstacle at a very comfortable pace. Her grandma even went in with her and survived. We could even take pictures while at it!

We even tried the wall climbing and see for yourself how daring isabelle is. She went up the wall as high as joelle and even jump down from that height. I never thought it could be so difficult till I tried to scale a panel and failed. Goodness, i'm terribly weak at the arms. I bet I'm going to ache tomorrow. After explorer kid, we went for lunch at the famous chicken rice store at ehub. True to its name, yummy! The girls ate well after their exercise at the playground.

While my grandma took a nap in the afternoon, the girls played with bubbles at the chalet. Mary bought the 'monkey' bubbles for isabelle at the store. In the evening, we took a walk at the beach before it started to drizzle again. We head back to ehub and took the ferris wheel and kiddy ride before settling down for dinner at the food court. What a nice way to spend time together with family. Four generation in fact.

This holiday is a nice break for me before the office renovation starts and hectic work begins. When will we have another holiday?

The girls birthday party!

Six years! My firstborn is six years old! How is that possible? I could clearly remember the day she was born! Oh and her very first birthday and second and third (seems like blogger lost a number of my posts from 2006) and forth and fifth. Today she will blow out her #6 candle and start formal education soon. I'm watching her through the camera lens and totally missing the babyness in her. This year she wrote her own guest list, requested her party venue, selected the theme for her birthday cake, gave out suggestions for gifts, drew on the goodie bags and even entertained her friends at the party. As this is the last party promised for her (we made a deal on six parties each), we make it just as she wishes. But of course we combine isabelle's birthday together like last year. Isabelle, my baby is not very into parties yet. She's excited about the stay at the chalet but she's cool about everything else. I'm so guilty of not documenting her first birthday party properly.

Joelle prepared some goodie bags for the children that will attend her party. We decorated the chalet with balloons and banners. They even wore new clothes!

It rained the entire day and we were very worried about the bbq plan. Daddy even prepared a huge umbrella for the pit. We have to thank the girls and everyone who prayed for a nicer weather and of course we thank God for answering. We also want to thank these two ladies for being such great pals. They came over to my place in the morning to help prepare the raw food and even stand in the light rain to help with the bbq. Thank you juli and danlin! I want to thank my personal helper, mary for working doubly hard at the party. She even took the girls to the store and let them choose their birthday gifts!

Last year we ordered a two tier cake from pine's garden and chose lychee martini for the lower tier and strawberry cream for the upper tier. This year we ordered a two tier cake from pine's as well but chose the alcoholic black forest for the lower tier and citrus drop for the upper tier. Both year's selection are great. We like the cakes from pine's very much for the variety of flavours. Joelle wanted the little mermaid as the theme for the cake, I searched high and low for the cake topper and finally got it online. The girls were very thrilled when they saw the cake. We were as well. It's amazingly beautiful and extremely... blue. Everyone went home with blue lips and blue tongues. Just so funny. We had a great laugh over that! Everyone was brave enough to go ahead and be blue.

Joelle and her cousin germaine.

Joelle and her godpa christopher.

Isabelle and her godma christina.
Mummy's brother ian.
Uncle stephen.

Joelle and her friends vera and verene.

Daddy, the only male in the picture. We have issy's godma's girls and our niece and even stole joelle's friends to pose. If only we have such huge family, we won't even mind if they're all girls. It was a fantastic party and we had so much fun. The bbq, the cake, the family, the girls, the laughter, the joy, the love and the blessings. We had them all.

Happy Birthday Joelle!

We hope you enjoyed your sixth birthday surprise!
