1st visit to the dentist

Well I never wanted her first visit to the dentist to be one of fear and pain. Unfortunately it was such. Both her lower incisors were being threaten by the fiercely emerging permanent teeth and we had really no choice but to seek professional help as she was starting to experience discomfort. As expected, the dentist recommended extraction and we went ahead. Joelle was very brave indeed to trust us. And I believed she cried out of fear rather than pain. To reward her for her courage, we brought her to the popular bookshop right next to the dental clinic and she bought a "the little mermaid" book.

My baby girl lost her first tooth or teeth.

Oh... and she actually wrote a note to the tooth fairy asking for "some stickers" and well... she got them alright.

Beads and craft

Another of our indoor activity. BEADS. We got a pretty huge container from ikea and the girls were very excited about getting started. Isabelle is probably too young for such small beads as her fingers are unable to manipulate the tiny beads well. She did not have the kind of patience required and she was soon bored and ran off without completing her piece. Joelle on the other hand is able to sit through the entire session, conceptualize her design and had the desire to see it materialized. Another reason could be her ability to manipulate the beads via a "pointed-head" scissor that made it exciting and new. We had tons of fun and look forward to our next session.

She made a coaster.

T-shirt art contest

Another really old post. We did another round of tee shirt painting (very first time for jo and very first time for issy) and decided to make it a competition. The girls not only had to do a nice job on their tee, they even had to "sell" their art to the judge (daddy). Joelle emerged the winner and I'm glad isabelle is such good sport (maybe she's still too young to feel competitive).

Girls and tarts...

Suddenly we crave for some pineapple tarts so we ran off to the stores and grab some ingredients and made some for ourselves. This time the girls get to "make" the tarts. They are edible, just not appetizing. Haha! They had fun, alot actually. It's like playing with dough for them. I'm glad I gave them only a small portion because we ended up throwing out most of theirs as they turned out too hard (a result of too much kneading). But it was an experience for them as they only get to see us adults making them during the CNY period and finally they had the chance to find out it was not as easy as it looked.
