Current amount : S$195... S$228

Our family has decided that the proceeds from the sales of the CNY pineapple tarts would go towards St. Theresa's Home. Please help generously. The title of this post will reflect the total amount collected. Please don't let it stop there.

In the beginning of 2010, we decided to "pass it on". Our family have been very blessed with God's grace and we would like to extend His blessings to people who might need them too. Besides praying and donating, we felt we could do more. So we chose a home to visit and hopefully to bring some joy to the residents. We selected St. Theresa's home.

To be honest, our girls are not very comfortable around aged people but we hope to inculcate in them some values that we feel are so important. The value of charity, care and love. I do pray that one day they will be running into the arms of the old ladies in the home and talking and singing to them. We would have done a really great job then. God will be proud of us. All of us.

Our ballerina

This is probably the reason why I have not written about isabelle's ballet classes. I wanted a show-and-tell. She is into her second week after the four-days holiday lessons and she totally enjoys her class. We could not really see her now during her class so I was fortunate to have these videos taken during her holiday class. Joelle has also (upon her sister's influence) sign up for ballet lessons in her school. Hopefully it can teach her some grace (hahaha!) and a better posture. I would have sign her up for ballet when she was three if not for daddy's disapproval. He never liked ballerinas but now he's a father to TWO! Ha! what a laugh! Anyway do enjoy the clip.

First week at school

The girls were still pretty excited about going to school on day 2 and we did the same morning routine without much fuss. However by the third and forth day, they were a little tardy and today issy was almost refusing to go to school. Joelle on the other hand is starting to like her new school and enjoys her new friendships. This week was a little messy and hectic and it did not start as planned (with my illness). But I'm thankful my mother came to help out this week. Together with dave, they managed a good first day with the girls. I was only cautiously back in force from the third day. Here are some pictures from day 2 and 3.

I was with my baby on day 2 at her school as my mother spent day 2 with joelle. I was not recovered actually so it was quite a difficult day (for me at least) but I'm glad I was with her. It was only for 1.5 hours and she seemed to be having fun.

We headed to joelle's school which is five minutes away for recess and I think she's really happy in school. Good for you, joelle!

On day 3, issy said she cried in school and did not eat her breakfast as she was afraid they will leave her behind if she did not finish in time. On day 4, she did not want to go to school but she still walk into school with her teachers when they took her. She still did not eat her breakfast, she said she did not like chee chong fun. On day 5, she refused to change for school and we spent a good five minutes at the gate with the teachers trying to coax her into the school. But at the end of school she said she ate her breakfast and even asked for more. What a week!

First day of school

The girls were up and out on time and pretty cheery too. I'm glad they were excited about school with their new uniforms, socks, shoes and bag. Mummy fell ill so could not be with them on their first day of school but managed to get up with them and share their excitement. Daddy will be with joelle while grandma will be with isabelle.

Back to school with dad 2010. I'm glad daddy did not have to work and was willing and excited to take his firstborn to school on her first day. I'm so proud of you daddy!

Grandma was with isabelle on her first day at school and she did well. I'm proud of my little one. Thanks grandma for the picture updates.

After school, grandma was seen waiting for her first grandchild at the school gate. My girls are fortunate to have a grandma so involved in their lives and so willing to spoil them. I wonder if I will be like my mum? Dave said I'll be worst. I know I will surely spoil my grandchildren rotten and might even give them the world.

Christmas party@home

This christmas, we did not have a big party. Instead we had our families over for a nice cosy lunch/dinner. Mummy baked a beautiful christmas fruit cake (it's a tradition for us, a must-have every year) in the morning and it's probably the best fruit cake I have made so far. There is our traditional christmas spaghetti and the chicken and ham and sausages. We popped some wine and sparkling juice. It was great. We had a fantastic time. The girls were reminded of God (they actually sang a birthday song to Jesus!) and were thankful for His blessings. I do pray that I am able to guide them into living a life worthy of God.

These are the children with their slices of log cake since the fruit cake is "heavily intoxicated". The little icing figurines were bought from a cake-making shop for 50cents per piece. Keeps the girls happy and I'm happy too that they did not finish the figurine (it's probably too sweet!)

Thank you all for the pressies! We had a wonderful christmas. Thank God for families...
